Today is my son's birthday. It is amazing how quickly time passes. It seems like just a short time ago that he was born. Then each of those little milestones that parents are thrilled about came. The first smile, the crawling, rolling over, walking and running. Today he is 16. And unlike many 16 year olds, he is not interested in driving yet. I am not sure if this is because of the accident he had in my car a couplen of years ago or if he just feels no need to drive yet.
He tells me that his health teacher is telling him again that he is unhealthy. Of all the markers that signal good health, there are factors besides the basics that have to be considered. Children of extreme extroverts are likely to be extroverted and have lots of friends. Children of introverts are more likely to be shy, depressed and less active. Why? Because kids tend to be just like their parents. It is as much environment as it is genetic.
